From our head of school

Dear friends and visitors,

Hi, I’m Miss Amanda, Owner and Director and head teacher of Big City Montessori School. I started here as a Montessori teacher and became Director in 1999, and it has been incredibly meaningful to grow alongside the school and the families we serve.

Together with our dedicated AMI-trained teachers, I’m committed to creating a warm, secure, and nurturing environment where children feel confident to explore, grow, and become more independent. As a grandmother of three young boys, my love for early childhood education feels more meaningful than ever.

Professional growth

At BCMS, we believe exceptional learning begins with exceptional educators. We are committed to supporting the continued education and professional growth of our faculty and staff.

Each classroom is led by an experienced, AMI-trained Montessori Head Teacher and supported by three certified Assistant Teachers, with a 1:6 teacher-to-student ratio.
