Founded in 1972 as Westlake Montessori School, the institution relocated in 1980 due to lease complications and rebranded as Big City Montessori School. Today, Big City Montessori continues to operate as a family-owned school, staying true to its roots with an authentic Montessori educational approach.

Our mission

A classroom with shelves filled with educational materials, toys, and art supplies. There are tables and chairs suitable for young children, a globe, a clock on the wall, and colorful decorations.

At Big City Montessori School, our mission is to nurture the whole child through a thoughtful Montessori approach that encourages independence, curiosity, confidence, and compassion. In partnership with families, we create a caring, hands-on learning environment where children build the skills and love of learning they will carry for life.
